In the three years since their alleged meeting at a State College, PA Red Lobster, alternative punk-rap duo Joey Valence and Brae have taken their genre-breaking and era-bending sound from the Penn State University dorms to venues, festivals and homes around the world. Their 2021 viral hit “Double Jump” marked the beginning of their rise, quickly followed by a string of successful singles and an EP in 2022. In September 2023, JVB released their debut full-length album, PUNK TACTICS. Its gold-certified title track has been streamed more than 100 million times globally, “HOOLIGANG” topped the charts on TikTok and Instagram and “STARTAFIGHT” was featured in Pepsi’s “Chase Cars” campaign which enjoyed many months of heavy commercial rotation on broadcast television. JVB entered 2024 with a sold-out tour across the US and Canada. A few months later, they released their sophomore LP NO HANDS (followed by a Deluxe Edition shortly after), which included features from Danny Brown, Terror Reid, Z-Trip and Ayesha Erotica. The record debuted in Spotify’s Top 10 Albums and has amassed over 75 million streams globally. Standout track “THE BADDEST (BADDER)” reached #2 on Spotify’s US Viral Top 50 Chart and was included in Paste’s “Songs of the Summer” list alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Charli xcx. JVB hit the road for a second time in 2024, this time selling out a world tour playing their biggest venues to date. 2025 kicked off with JVB’s Australian debut at Laneway Festival alongside two sold-out headline shows, and they’re slated to perform at a series of US and European festivals this summer. Their third LP is currently in the works and is expected to drop later this year.
