Style: Deep House / Disco
When & Where:
In 1986 Isaac (aka iSicK) moved into the mountains of the west Kootenays, in Nelson, BC, Canada. Nelson, as well as many other cities in Canada, is rich in art, such as musical styles and sounds. It is also home to the legendary Shambhala Music Festival.
It was in Nelson that Isaac was first exposed to underground Electronic music.
Influenced by local DJs and friends such as Billy Bangers, Django, Hoola Hoop, Lion-S, Soup, Neighbour, Woodhead and many others, Isaac first learned the art of mixing records over a decade ago.
Although appreciative of almost all musical genres, iSicK’s sets are known to contain sounds ranging from primarily deep house, weirdo house, disco, funk and skid hop.
iSicK has performed at almost every playable venue in the area, having shared a local residency with Billy Bangers as well as a handful of international gigs in Asia. This will be his third performance at Shambhala this year, in 2013.
At present time, iSicK resides on the outskirts of Nelson, continuing to learn more about music every day, and focus on theory and production of electronic music.
Hopefully you get the chance to share in his love of the craft by attending one of his uplifting and capturing sets.
