Is there any chance that there will be no camping spots if we arrive on the Friday? I’ve never gone before and don’t really know what to expect, want to buy the Early Bird tix which say they include camping.

      April 10, 2014

      Hey Sarah,

There will always be camping available as it is quite a large farm. Our one car-camping zone, Starlight, will likely be full by Friday. If you park in our Free Parking lot, and pack really light, your chances are good that you can still find a nice spot on Friday.

The rules change a bit if you want to camp with your car as those lots require a paid vehicle decal.

Camping and parking is very unique at Shambhala and it is hard to sum up our lots, decals, rules, etc. accurately in a comment. I’m going to be re-writing our Camping and Parking section soon (maybe even sooner thanks to your questions!), I’ll get off my butt and redo the Camping and Parking page on the website over the next couple of days and will send you an email once it’s ready.

Short answer is yes though. There will still be camping spots available on Friday.

Thanks for your questions, and welcome to your first Shambhala!

Why is paypal charging me $17 for shipping even if I select Will Call for my ticket?

    • Profile photo of Andy

      July 4, 2014

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your argument that we do not actually ship anything.

We charge a handling fee equal to the price of Canadian shipping as we actually prefer to mail out our tickets whenever possible in order to prevent long line-ups at the show. Managing will-call accurately at the show is a complex task and something that requires quite a large amount of staff resources on our end to ensure lists are complete, tickets are reconciled, and nobody is left out. We have had to dedicate a large portion of pre-show management time and allot additional staff resources to prepare, document and reconcile our will-call process which is why we charge a fee equal to the price of Canadian shipping.

We have raised the issue of the labelling with PayPal in the past to see if we have any means of changing the text on the PayPal shopping cart without making significant changes to our ticket processing regime (we have always wanted Shipping and Handling to say Processing Fees instead). Unfortunately, they are unable to provide any assistance or an administrative field to modify this field. As PayPal offers processing in a wide variety of languages, I can understand their unwillingness to provide this level of customization.

I bought a couple of standard tickets, and I would like early entry access so I can be among the first to stake a camp area. What is the best way I can go about this?

    Thank you,

Hi Elishia. You are welcome to stay the night on Sunday, if you let parking know your situation, they will find a great place for you. We are always more than happy to let our guests get some sleep before hitting the road.

A friend and I are coming to Shambhala for the first time this summer and are super stoked, but were wondering as the tickets include free camping – can we substitute a tent for a camper van?

    • Profile photo of Andy

      November 17, 2014

You are allowed to bring a camper van, but as you will be requiring to camp with your vehicle, you will be required to purchase a car-camping decal when you arrive at the farm. These decals are sold on the festival grounds on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pricing for these decals has yet to be finalized, but once we solidify the pricing for 2015, we will update our camping and parking page at:

Hey Brooklyn, we used to have a chaperone program in 2010, but we found many minors were separated from their chaperones. For this reason, we discontinued the program and Shambhala is now a 19+ event.

      January 21, 2015

      Hey Natasha,

If you want to come during the early entry days (Wednesday / Thursday), you don’t need to purchase any special tickets or anything. Once you arrive to the ranch, if you are at the gate prior to 8AM on the Friday, we will just collect the applicable additional fee from you at that time. Please note that gate fees and parking decals are cash only and we are unable to accept credit cards at the gate.

        • Profile photo of Andy

          January 27, 2015

          Hey Natasha,

There isn’t a special “Early Entry” ticket. You just buy a regular ticket, and if you show up early, we collect the extra cash from you upon your arrival to the farm.

Hey! Do you have any more information on the ‘pay in installments’ tickets ?! When will they be released? How many payments usually ? My boyfriend and I’s first time and if we’re able to stretch out the payment, it would be financially perfect for us ! Do they usually sell out fast ?!

That’s great; thanks so much for the info. Last question. For these specific instalment tickets.. is it credit card only? or paypal only ? or either or.

        • Profile photo of Andy

          January 27, 2015

Payments are handled through PayPal, so you should be able to do a direct payment through your bank account, provided you have attached a bank account to your PayPal account.

We usually don’t confirm Sunday ticket prices until around May or June. Last year, I believe they were $165, so they will probably be somewhere in that range.

    Hey :)

I bought my tickets from Beat Street here in Van. We have decided we want lodging now, do I need proof of Ticket purchase before I can get lodging?

    • Profile photo of Andy

      March 23, 2015

No, you won’t require any proof of ticket purchase in order to get Lodging. You might get a call from our ticketing department confirming that you indeed have tickets, but that’s about it.

I just bought my ticket today….i’m coming all the way from Atlanta, GA. When i bought my ticket, shipping & handling was like $37. Did that automatically include $20 that i read about to ship to the US because I didn’t select an option to do so?

    • Profile photo of Andy

      April 10, 2015

Hey Frazier, you’re all good! That is the correct amount for shipping to the US. You should be receiving your tickets around 4 weeks from now.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, i’m so stoked for my first adventure out to Shambhala. I am thinking about purchasing shambhalodging now and i already bought my ticket…is that something like a pass that is sent in the mail as well? or do you check in at the festival? how will that be added on? i hope its not too late for me to get it…i really want to be camping in the woods in August! thanks so much!

Although I don’t have an exact number, I would suggest snapping them up soon as they have been flying out the door ever since our line-up announcement. Maybe a month or two remaining, maybe a bit more.

      April 14, 2015

Thanks for the questions Frazier. You can purchase lodging as an upgrade anytime, you just need to go to https://tickets.shambhalamusicfestival.com and purchase the lodging package you are interested in. You don’t need to purchase your tickets at the same time. We don’t mail you anything, but will send you check-in instructions as we get closer to the show.

If you want to bring your own tent, you might be interested in the “Just a campsite” package. It’s just a plot of land in our ShambhaLodging zone and doesn’t provide you with a tent or air-mattress.

Tickets labeled as Promo tickets are given to executive and industry guests. You do not have to pay early entry fees if you have a Promo ticket. Everything else is the same as a regular guest ticket.

I moved to western Canada in 2011. at the time I heard about Shambhala and decided I couldnt miss the event that year and needed to go. So I purchased my ticket online.  But unfortunately due to work I was unable to go.  I didn’t sell my ticket however, I pinned it on my wall and it’s been there ever since. Each year I always tried to make it but my job always prevented me.

This month we are extremely slow, due to the recession. So I finally have an opportunity to make it to Shambhala, however you are sold out. Hahaha.   That sucks.   But i am hoping you guys might consider being extremely cool and honor my past ticket. I would be extremely grateful and will def give you guys props on social media.

Is this something you guys might consider? Thanks regardless for your time and consideration.

Please find attached pictures of my ticket. Thank you very much.
