Camping

There are parking and camping regulations in place on the site. Depending on when you arrive and which sites have been filled, our Parking Attendants will be parking vehicles.

RV's are not permitted to run their generators at the event.  RV's found operating generators will be subject to a fine.

  • The Water Station is located next to the Info Booth.  This water is filtered and free.

  • Please do not use the Water Station as a place to attend to personal care.  This Station is for water collection.

  • Drink lots of water all the time. Dehydration is one of the most common causes of trips to the First Aid tent. Symptoms include headaches, stomach cramps, constipation, vomiting or flu like symptoms.

  • DO NOT DRINK WATER FROM THE SALMO RIVER

  • DO NOT DRINK WATER FROM THE IRRIGATION SPIGOTS

Reflection

Hot showers are available!  In the depths of the woods we have worked hard to bring you cleanliness.

Showers are $5 for 5 min.  Please bring environmentally friendly soap, flip-flops for the shower, and a towel.

Please use a wet nap to wash any body glitter or body make-up off before using the shower.  The colours are hard on the system and bad for the environment.

Shambhala Music Festival Ltd is restricted in regards to the water usage at the farm.  As a result, we need to shut down the showers after a certain amount of water has run through the system.  We are introducing a new system to reduce water consumption.

First Aid is available at all times. Our First Aid volunteers have considerable experience with the show and are glad to help out for any medical need.

Based in British Columbia, Options for Sexual Health (OPT) is Canada's largest non-profit provider of sexual health services.

Look for us at Shambhala to find out how to make your “in-tents” experience a safe one!   More..

  • Security & Safety personnel strive to protect the well-being of everyone attending Shambhala. As such, we expect our guests to have the utmost respect for our staff.

  • Security & Safety personnel are available at all times for the patrons of Shambhala.

Serious violations of policies and protocols may lead to evection off of the Salmo River Ranch.

Please report any suspicious behavior directly to Security and Safety personnel.

Camping
"The Sanctuary" harm reduction space provides a harm reduction and safe space for folks having difficult experiences due to partying too hard, too high or too long. You can find the Sanctuary in the grove of old growth trees in the City Centre. The Sanctuary entrance is on the left hand side of the big white First Aid tent and will be open 24-hours a day for the duration of the festival.

We encourage responsible and healthy partying! Our team of party-experienced and trained volunteers is here to assist you if you or your friends are having problems or if you are just looking for information on how to party smart. The Sanctuary team works together with First Aid, Security and ANKORS to provide support and assistance where needed, and a safe space for folks in distress to ground out and find their centre again. We take a non-judgmental harm-reduction approach and promote health and self-care.

  • Fires are not permitted during the festival
  • Candles are not permitted
  • Please bring a small fire extinguisher.  Quick response time to camp related fires can save property and lives.
  • If you smoke, carry a tin or film canister with you for your cigarette butts

Please note of the location of First Aid, Security, the Water Station, Washrooms and the Information Booth upon arrival. The site looks much different at night.

Bring it in, Bring it out!

Have compassion for the family farm that is the home to Shambhala – take your garbage to a garbage can!
Meet and greet your neighbours. Daytime lounging at your site will only be heightened when you enjoy the company of your fellow adventurer’s.

Leave your camping site as clean as when you moved in. Most of the garbage generated by the festival is from campsites. If you pack it in, pack it out.

Be prepared to be some what self reliant. You are on a working ranch kilometers away from the grid. The entire festival grounds have been carved out of a rustic ranch for the sole purpose of delighting its guests for one week of the year. Please keep this in mind and have patience with the rustic systems.

Prepare for all types of weather. The days are hot but the nights are very cool and damp. Anything left outside overnight will be wet. Extra socks are a must.

Protect your valuables. Leave them at home or lock them in your vehicle.

Take care of yourself and you will be a better friend. When you are suffering from the heat, exhaustion, sleep deprivation or lack of nutrition, you can make for a grumpy partier. So take a nap, drink some water, eat a snack and take care of your well being as well as that of your friends.

Use the buddy system

Please utilitize the garbage, composting and recycling facilities provided. Leave you camp ground in as good or better condition than when you found it.

Shambhala is not the place for pets.  Please leave them at home.  There are no facilities available and animals will not be allowed on site.
