Last year, proudly reppin’ my Rock Pit T, I was escorted away from the Living Room stage by 2 large security guards for starting a mosh pit. I can’t remember exactly who was playing that Thursday night but you were badass and it sounded amazing! I can’t wait for this year…haha Living Room stage security, I’m coming back!
KYTAMI is a violinistextremist. Undeniably Canada’s most diverse and engaging fiddle player, she is a compelling, skillful and dynamic performer. Kytami’s compositions combine elements of classical and fiddle styles as well as epic soaring lines with heavy bass and beats. With her abilities, style and devilish smile, she has won over audiences all over the world. Kytami has played at most major festivals across Canada and this is her 6th appearance at Shambhala. No stranger to the U.S. either, she has appeared at Joshua Tree, Bumbershoot, Harmony, SXSW and Earthdance festivals. In 2010 she traveled overseas to perform at festivals and music conferences in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Berlin and Dubai. From 2006-2010 Kytami co-wrote two albums and toured extensively with the multi-cultural, award winning band Delhi 2 Dublin and has also appeared on albums released by The Swollen Members, Sweatshop Union and punk band The Rebel Spell.
The beginning of 2012 saw Kytami drop her self-titled solo album and also join forces with the electronic label East Van Digital.
This year Kytami will be performing with members of F.U.C., a crew based out of Portland, Oregon which consists of an MC, a drummer and a DJ she met while on a crazy, epic tour through the USA.
