Originally hailing from Calgary and now residing in the interior of B,C __kAtO entered the DJ world through the burgeoning Turntablist/Battle scene of the late 90′s, gaining a reputation for using various musical styles and influences in his routines. This set the precedent for his use of skratching, juggles, and trick mixing during his performances which, over more recent years have focused on integrating technical skills into dancefloor driving party rock sets. Expect many live, on the fly remixes using acapellas as well as successive musical left turns changing tempo and genre at will. Although his roots are in Hip hop, Rock and Reggae, a love of all things bass-heavy has lead to use of Glitch Hop, Drumstep, DNB, Dubstep, Crunk, Funk, Party breaks and anything else to fuel people to lose inhibitions and dance their faces off.

Opening for such respected acts as Smalltown DJS, Mat The Alien, ill.Gates, and Zeds Dead, __kAtO has garnered many prestigious accolades along the way such as “Canada’s friendliest Ninja,” “Purveyor of amazing Hot Sauce” and “RedBull 3style 2011 403 Champ.”
